Straight answers before you call
How much does an EICR cost in Shrewsbury?
It depends on the number of circuits and the size of the property. A typical two or three bedroom home falls in a set price band, and larger or commercial properties are quoted after a quick look at the consumer unit. Every EICR is priced in writing before any work starts.
Do landlords in Shropshire legally need an EICR?
Yes. Landlords of rented homes in England must have the fixed electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years, and must give tenants a copy of the report. A satisfactory EICR is the document that proves compliance.
Are you a registered electrician?
Yes. Sean is registered with a government-approved competent person scheme, works to BS 7671 and notifies Building Control for anything covered by Part P of the Building Regulations.
What is changing with the wiring regulations in 2026?
Amendment 4 to BS 7671 was published on 15 April 2026 and the previous version is withdrawn on 15 October 2026. From that date, new certificates are issued to BS 7671:2018+A4:2026. All work here is certified to the current standard.
