One electrician, start to finish
SW Electrical is Sean Warrender. I've been an electrician for 26 years, working across domestic and commercial jobs, and I still do the work myself. When you ring, you speak to the person who'll be doing the job, and when I quote it, I'm the one who has to stand behind it.
That's the main practical difference between a business this size and a larger contractor. Nothing gets lost between the person who priced the job and the person who turns up, and there's no incentive to sell you work you don't need.
How I work
My approach is simple and hasn't changed much in 26 years. Look at the job properly. Explain what's going on in language that makes sense. Say what needs doing now and what can wait. Do the work safely, test it, certify it, and leave the place tidy.
Sometimes that means telling someone their installation is fine and they don't need to spend anything. That's part of the job too.
Registrations
SW Electrical is registered with NAPIT for electrical work, and I'm OZEV registered for EV charge point installation. Air conditioning is planned for the future and will be offered only once the relevant registrations are confirmed.
Local, and staying that way
I'm based in Shrewsbury and most of my work is within Shropshire, with parts of Staffordshire, the Midlands and Cheshire also covered. Working locally is deliberate. It keeps travel time down, it means I can get to an emergency, and in a county this size, reputation still travels by word of mouth.
