This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit swelectrical.co.uk, send an enquiry, or get in touch by phone, WhatsApp or email. It is written for anyone who wants to know before they hand over their details, not just for the sake of having a policy.
1. Who this is
This website is run by me, Sean Warrender, trading as SW Electrical, an electrician based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. I'm a sole trader, there's no separate company and no staff, so when this policy says "I" or "me" it means me personally, and I'm the one responsible for your information.

2. What information is collected
Information is only collected when you choose to give it, through the enquiry form, the EV charge point survey, or by contacting me directly. Nothing is collected silently in the background.

- Your description of the work
- Your preferred contact method

- Your name

- Your address, so I can plan the installation and visit if needed
- Details about the property: its type, whether you own or rent it, and where you park
- Any photos and video you choose to upload, and any notes you add
By phone, WhatsApp or email
Whatever you share in the course of that conversation, typically the same kind of detail as above, plus anything about the job itself such as photos of the work needed. I don't record phone calls.
3. Why it is collected
Solely to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote, and carry out the work if you go ahead. That's the whole purpose. I don't use anything you provide for marketing, add it to a mailing list, or use it to advertise to you elsewhere.
4. The legal basis for using it
Where you are enquiring about a job, your information is used either to take steps towards a contract with you (getting your details to provide a quote) or, once you are a customer, to perform that contract. Where contact is more general, it is used on the basis of legitimate interest: responding to someone who has chosen to get in touch is a reasonable and expected use of the information they provided for that purpose.
5. Where it is stored, and who else sees it
Enquiry form and EV survey submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database, hosted in the UK/EU, and any photos and video uploaded with a survey are kept in Cloudflare's R2 storage alongside it. When a new enquiry comes in, a notification email is sent using Resend, an email delivery service, so I know to respond. Resend only ever sees the content of that one notification email, not ongoing access to the database.
No one else has access to this information. I don't sell it, rent it, or share it with any other third party, and it's never used by any advertising or data broker service.
If you contact me through WhatsApp, that conversation also sits within WhatsApp's own systems, governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy rather than this one, since that's Meta's platform rather than this website.
6. How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to a booked job are kept for 12 months from the date of your last contact, then deleted.
Once a job is booked, records connected to that work, including certification and any correspondence about it, are kept for 6 years, in line with standard record keeping practice and the usual period for contract-related claims in England and Wales.
You can ask for your information to be deleted sooner. See your rights below; the only limit is that I may need to keep certain records where I have a legal obligation to do so, such as safety certification for completed work.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website does not set cookies. There is no advertising, no tracking across other websites, and nothing that follows you around the internet afterwards, which is why you were not shown a cookie banner when you arrived.
Visitor numbers are measured using Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and without collecting anything that identifies you personally. It shows things like which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors are located, but it cannot and does not build a profile of you, and the data is not shared with advertisers.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can:
- Ask what information is held about you
- Ask for incorrect information to be corrected
- Ask for your information to be deleted
- Object to your information being used, or ask for its use to be restricted
- Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format
To use any of these, email the address at the top of this page. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though it is appreciated if you raise it directly first so it can be put right.
9. Changes to this policy
If anything about how information is collected or used changes, for example a new tool being added to the website, this page will be updated and the date below will change. It is worth checking back if you have an ongoing enquiry.
