Commercial work has one extra requirement on top of doing the job properly: it has to fit around a business that still needs to run. I've spent a large part of 26 years working in occupied premises, and I plan the work accordingly.
What I do for businesses
- New installations and fit-outs
- Lighting installation, replacement and upgrades
- Distribution boards, additional circuits and dedicated supplies
- Fault finding and reactive repairs
- Planned maintenance and remedial work
- Periodic inspection, testing and certification
- Workplace EV charge points, covered on its own page
Who this suits
Shops and salons, offices, cafes and pubs, workshops and garages, small industrial units, and property managers responsible for commercial buildings. If you are a larger site with a formal procurement process, it is worth a conversation first to check the fit.
Working around you
Where the work allows it, I'll schedule around your opening hours and stage the job so the areas you need stay usable. You'll get a realistic timescale rather than an optimistic one, and a single point of contact throughout.
Commercial questions
Can you work outside our opening hours?
Where the job allows it, yes. Evening and weekend work can usually be arranged so the disruption lands when the premises is quiet.
Do you take on maintenance as well as installation?
Yes. Ongoing maintenance, planned upgrades and reactive repairs are all part of the commercial work.
Do you cover emergencies for businesses?
Yes. Emergency call-outs are available at any time, including outside the standard Monday to Friday hours.
